The Big Experiment

Presenting Bible Studies is my thing; always has been. So it doesn’t often feel like there’s anything new under the sun when it comes to drawing people together around God’s Word. But because we worship a creative, surprising, and ever-present Lord, we did indeed get to experience something a little different on Wednesday, February 2. It was our first group Bible study, using The God of Change material that was published in January. The participants came together in a Zoom meeting and spent an hour with one another and the Lord. Modern technology is not a mystery to the God, and He graciously came into our time together, bringing His blessings along with Him.

As a part of Wednesday’s study, we looked at the theme verse for the entire Movable Adventure, Romans 12:1-2. I wanted to bring the Old Testament into the conversation as well, pointing to God’s instructions to the Children of Israel that His people provide a sanctuary in their midst. Tying that passage to Paul’s words in Romans, that we are to present our bodies as living sacrifices, became the focus of our teaching time. It’s a spiritually huge concept and worthy of our meditation.

Forty of us gathered online, meeting new friends, and reconnecting with old. Those forty became 6 breakout groups where we had the time to interact with one another on a more intimate level. And, because we were in His Word, God showed up with grace and insight. He never disappoints!

The following Wednesdays in February (9,16,23) will find us in Unit Two of The God of Change. Each week we will take up God’s Word, share our insights, and maybe learn something new. We will examine the lineage of Moses, take a ride in a tiny boat, and talk about the fact no one (except for Jesus Himself) has lived a perfect life. We all mess up and God has dealt with that problem for us.

It’s not too late to become a part of the experience. You can give us your email address using this link: https://forms.gle/ioV2vV9jCzNzUbnSA

With that information in hand, we’ll send you the Zoom link and prep information regarding each study time. This is a golden opportunity to give some of your week to the Lord. Come and see His faithfulness in action!
