Prayer Experiments

An early October weekend called for the gathering of the wives of pastors in the Minnesota South District - LCMS in Belle Plain, Minnesota. Young moms with babes to wives of emeritus pastors had a great time coming together to make new friends and meet up with old friends. The agenda was to spend some time with experiments with Visual Prayer.

Tables were set up with needed supplies for learning about prayers of lament, secret code prayers, stain glass prayers, and even writing our "own psalm." Nothing too "artsy" and eveyone could manage the new processes easily. A Thrivent Grant allows for getting all the needed supplies to host an event.

Thanks to Rachel Hinz for the invitation for me to come and share with your group! It was also great to spend time with Sonja- a ministry friend from earlier years.

Takeaways shared within the group:

  • Wish we had learned about these tools earlier!!!!! We want to share.

  • It was amazing how quickly 5 minutes of prayer time went using Visual prayer tools.

  • I want to learn to text visual prayers to my grandchildren.

  • I can use this in Sunday School and confirmation classes.

  • The Worship resources are something we can use at our church.

  • I can add these practices to our family devotion time.

  • It isn't hard and I didn't have to be an artist. Yea.

  • My mind didn't wander in the prayer time using Visual Prayer tools and that is awesome for me.

Maybe you have a group in mind to gather in a retreat setting. Visual Faith® Ministry is ready to help.
